In the new political conditions, all market participants face a difficult choice – how to use convenient open source solutions and at the same time guarantee data security from possible leaks, Valentin Makarov, President of the Russoft non-profit partnership, noted at the meeting.

"We work with open source solutions and are now thinking about making it semi-open source. But the situation will not change fundamentally - it is always an acceptance of risks. It is important to check the code, since the issue of information security (IS) cannot be ignored," he explained.

Softline CEO Vladimir Lavrov said that the product format is determined by the client: "Our portfolio has room for both our own products and custom ones. If we see that the niche is interesting, we move there with our solution, using the open source approach."

At the same time, the director of the Federal State Institution "State Technologies" ("GosTech") Vasily Slyshkin called on everyone to "refuse to use open source software in the architecture." Last year showed that this is one of the vulnerabilities, he said at the Interregional Conference on Information Security "Infoforum-Center" held in Tula on October 4.

Speaking about the security of domestic software solutions, Lev Matveyev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SearchInform, recalled that not long ago, businesses called on the authorities to create state security monitoring centers , but never received an answer. Many institutions, for example, medical organizations, where valuable patient data is stored, cannot afford a good information security specialist. It is logical that small businesses, where the number of computers does not exceed a couple of dozen, should be administered by special information security centers. According to statistics, more than 200 thousand small and medium-sized businesses operate in Russia, the expert noted.

In this regard, SearchInform decided to create its own centers based on the franchise model – outsourcing services.
